We are delighted to announce that our innovative project with Ford Otosan has been featured as a success story in the global report titled ‘Cobots in the Automotive Industry’ published by ABB!

So, what made this project special?

We achieved a first in the automotive sector in Turkey by integrating the ABB GoFa™ cobot onto a Festo linear rail system. Developed in collaboration between Nilus Engineering, ABB and Festo, this solution provided high precision in a critical operation such as sealing pre-paint holes with leak-proof plugs.

The tangible results we achieved:

• High Precision and Quality: GoFa™ minimised error rates and improved product quality by preventing dust or foreign matter from entering.

• Operational Efficiency: Cycle times were reduced and production efficiency was optimised thanks to the linear motion system.

As proof of our vision to bring new technologies to Turkish industry, we demonstrated the flexibility of cobots in complex automotive applications.
